EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES (BIRTH - 5 YEARS)

BIRTH TO AGE 3 PROGRAM

Families with children birth to three years living in District 20 are eligible to enroll in one of the nation's most successful Early Childhood Programs - PARENTS AS TEACHERS (PAT). This free program is based on the philosophy that parents are their children's first and most influential teachers. PAT provides the following:

- Personal home visits

-Free developmental check-ups

-Group meetings (a wide variety of parenting topics)

-Play groups

-Toy/book lending library

STARS PRESCHOOL

PRESCHOOL SCREENING

Preschool Screening is recommended for ALL CHILDREN, ages 3-5 years (non-kindergarten), residing in District 20. Preschool Screening is FREE and assesses development in the areas of:

-thinking skills

-speech and language skills

-small and large muscle skills

-vision and hearing
