  • The Calendar Committee presented the proposed calendar for the 2024-25 school year for first read as part of the consent agenda.  The calendar will be submitted for approval at the next Board Meeting in February.  As in previous years, District 20's goal is to have a calendar aligned with Lake Park High School calendar.  Highlights of the proposed calendar include:
August 13 - Opening Institute Day
August 14 - First Day of School (Grades 1-8) Full Day
August 19 - First Day of School (Kindergarten) Full Day
November 25 - 29 - Thanksgiving Break (aligned with LPHS)
December 23 - January 3 - Winter Break (aligned with LPHS)
March 31 - April 4 - Spring Break (aligned with LPHS)
May 28 - Last Day of School if no emergency days used
May 31 - Last Day of School if all emergency days used

  • Snow Day vs. E-Learning Day: The decision to close schools for inclement weather or to call for an e-Learning Day will be made on a case-by-case basis looking at several variables, including but not limited to:
    • Day of the week (for example, if the call is made on the weekend vs. weekday)
    • Time of day (for example, if a call is made early morning vs. early evening)
    • Type of emergency day (for example, if a call is made for extreme cold vs. too much snow.  If we are closing due to too much snow, the decision will most likely be for a "traditional snow day"
    • Other school emergencies that can affect individual buildings (for example, water main break or power outage at a school)
  • The Administrators submitted written reports and gave oral presentations to the Board.
