Illinois 2019-2020 5Essentials Survey:
Organizing Schools for Improvement
The Illinois State Board of Education is implementing this survey to help paint a fuller picture of the teaching and learning in our district and schools. 5Essentials is an evidence-based system designed to drive improvement in schools nationwide. It reliably measures changes in a school through a 5Essentials survey taken by parents, students (grades 4-12), and teachers (grades PreK-12) and provides individualized, actionable reports based on five essential areas critical for school improvement: (1) effective leaders, (2) collaborative teachers, (3) involved families, (4) supportive environment, and (5) ambitious instruction.

The District partnered with Bernie's Books to provide a bag filled with age-appropriate books for each and every student in grades Preschool through 6th Grade.
