School District 20 Board of Education Receives Distinction from Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB)

Hanover Park (August 28, 2018) –The seven members of the Keeneyville Elementary School District 20 Board of Education have earned an Illinois Association of School Boards’ 2018 School Board Governance Recognition designation. One of just 24 school boards to receive this designation, District 20 is being recognized by IASB for “engaging in activities and modeled behaviors that lead to excellence in local school governance in support of quality public education,” wrote IASB’s Executive Director, Thomas E. Bertrand, in his notification letter.

A rigorous application process included providing evidence and written summaries to demonstrate: engaging in efforts to communicate the District 20 mission, vision and goals, connecting with stakeholders, implementing a superintendent evaluation, conducting regular policy reviews, monitoring progress toward District 20 goals, implementing an orientation program for new board members, conducting self-evaluations and actively participating in IASB workshops and designating voting delegates for the IASB Delegate Assembly.
