District 20 continues to be committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. To help stop the spread of illness and keep our schools open for in-person learning, we are pleased to partner with Northshore Clinical Labs to offer a free, optional D20 COVID-19 Testing Program for staff. Please see below for a detailed overview of the testing program, including the testing opportunities that will be provided to our students and staff.
We know that it has been challenging for many families when their ill students are sent home due to current health protocols and asked to obtain a COVID-19 test. We expect that the upcoming flu season will likely increase the number of sick students and make this situation even more difficult for our families. An onsite COVID-19 testing program will help us to quickly rule-out COVID with optional, free testing and get your kids back to the classrooms sooner. The screening program will protect our students, staff, family members, and others by allowing us to identify positive cases quickly and early, which can help us to stop an outbreak before it happens.
Participation in the testing program is absolutely a parent/guardian decision. YOU make the choice to opt-in by completing an online registration form. The comprehensive onsite testing program will begin the week of 11/8 for Staff and 11/15 for Students.
District 20’s goal is to help keep our learning environment as safe as possible, so that our students and staff can Stay Healthy and Stay in School! We will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 data and we will provide notice of positive cases in our schools on our D20 COVID-19 Dashboard to keep our community regularly informed.
